Oil companies are not required by the U.S. government to have remote shut-offs for their oil wells at platform sites, as many others do throughout the world. Why not? Could it be that oil companies have been running the U.S. government all this time and figured they could save themselves some cash by not putting these controls in? Seems like we would be done with a few people running everything by now. When do we get to have a Democracy, Daddy? When? Please? Pretty please with sugar?
