Guns & Posers

Conservatives love to tout guns as the greatest thing to have around – better than sliced bread or the ball point pen. Yet, any time someone uses one, they want to yell and scream and shout about how badly this makes our city look that someone used a gun to settle an argument or whatever. Well, what do you expect? In a consumer culture, you don’t buy something without intending to use it at some point.

Not everyone who owns a gun knows how to use it or is responsible enough to own one, but if the conservatives don’t want gun ownership regulated, why won’t they ask the gun industry to regulate themselves, like the entertainment industry is expected to do? What’s more dangerous, a CD recording containing some vulgar epithets or a bullet in the head?
