Pictures of caskets draped in American flags is not a matter of privacy. There are no human remains shown, only red white and blue covered boxes. Even so, the concerns of the families left behind do not override the concerns of our entire nation. The remains themselves are carefully concealed. The Bush Administration would like the caskets carefully concealed as well. Apparently, he’d rather Americans go through their day-to-day lives blissfully ignorant of the true cost of war. If we are truly proud of a soldier’s service and proud of a soldier’s sacrifice, then we should be proud to display his casket as a symbol of our country’s resolve, our willingness to die for a nobel cause. The fact that the Bush Administration wants to hide these images says one thing – the Bushies are ashamed of themselves. Is it because their cause is less than nobel?
